CARWILE, Stewart - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Covington - Stewart E. Carwile, 93, a farmer and resident of Wabash Township in Fountain County for 66 years, died today in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient for one week. Born Feb. 23, 1884, in Barton County, Mo., he was a son of Charles and Clara Glover Carwile. He was married June 22, 1911, to Ruth C. Conover. She died in 1976. Survivors include two sisters Mrs. Bonnie Heath and Mrs. N. Harriett McKinney of Covington, and a niece, Mrs. Julie Conover of Laguna Beach, Calif. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday.
