W.B. CARTER one of Fountain county’s most highly esteemed citizens, passed away at his home near Centenniel Saturday of apoplexy. Deceased was 76 years old and had many warm friends who will regret to learn the sad news of his death. He leaves a wife, six children, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren to mourn his loss. He was an influential man and had much to do with the progress of his country in the early days. His illness was of short duration, death having came as a relief in a few hours after he took sick. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 12 o’clock from the Centenniel church by Rev. Carney of Lebanon afterwhich the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near by. – s
