Mrs. Fern Elizabeth Carter of Tilton, Illinois, age 71, died Friday evening, November 6, at her home. She was born October 28, 1910, the daughter of Benjamin and Emily Sweezy Holden. A resident of Danville, Illinois, most of her life, she had lived in Tilton 15 years and served in the Women’s Army Corps in World War II.

Survivors include a brother, Forrest Holden of Freeport, Illinois; an aunt, Mary Shriner of Burbank, California; and a niece, Donna Kemp of Canton, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. – thanks to S
