Kingman woman died Saturday morning at 9:15 at her residence after an illness of several years. Born in Kingman April 24, 1881, she was the daughter of Francis and Mary Ann Hutts Shell. She was married to William E. Carter, Sr Aug 13, 1900 and was a member of the Kingman Christian Church. Surviving are her husband; four sons, Hugh of Veedersburg and Donald, Ray and William, all of Kingman; two daughters, Mrs. Josie Brown of Fortville, Ind and Miss Mary Carter of Indianapolis; a brother, Dennis Shell of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Lulu Carter of Arcadia, Calif; 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by a brother. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Kingman Christian Church with pastor Gorge Green officiating. Burial was in Centennial Cemetery. – kbz
