Veedersburg - Donald W. Carpenter, 67, of Rt. 4, Veedersburg, a retired employe of the Indiana State Highway Department and licensed civil engineer and land surveyor, died Saturday in Lane Nursing Center at Crawfordsville. He was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ, Hillsboro Masonic Lodge and Fern Chapter of OES. He was born in Veedersburg on Oct. 1, 1908, a son of Daniel W. and Florence Epperson Carpenter. He was married to Marion Allen on Feb. 10, 1934. Surviving are his wife; a son, Daniel A. of Waynetown; a step-daughter, Barbara Wycoff of Madison; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro with the Rev. Robert C. Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
