Covington -- Mrs. Alma D. CARNS 78 of Covington died this morning in Logansport. She had lived at Closter, NJ for 48 years before moving to Covington in 1967. Mrs. Carns was a 50-year member and past worthy matron of Alma Chapter 32 Order of the Eastern Star of Closter and was a member of the Lutheran Church. Born June 23, 1897 at Brooklyn NY she was a daughter of Nicolaus (sic) and Katherine Siefert Dankers. She married M. Donald Carns June 1, 1920; he died 1949. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Hegg six grandchildren and four greats.

Covington, Ind.—Mrs. Alma D. Carns, 78, formerly of Covington, died Tuesday morning (Oct. 14, 1975) at the Logansport State Hospital. She had been a patient since 1973.
  Born June 23, 1897 in Brooklyn, N. Y., she was the daughter of Nicolous and Katherine Siefert Dankers. On June 1, 1920, she was married to M. Donald Carns, who died in 1949.
  Mrs. Carns was a resident of Closter, N. Y. for 48 years before moving to Covington in 1967.
  She was a member of the Lutheran Church, a 50 year member and past worthy matron of Alma Chapter 32, Order of the Eastern Star of Closter.
  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Hegg of Covington; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
  Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 16, 1975) at the DeVerter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert H. Miller officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. Friends were received from 2-4 and 7-9 Wednesday at the funeral home.
  Memorial services were conducted by the Covington Order of Eastern Star at the funeral home.
