Joe Carman, of Mellott, died at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, at 3:30 Wednesday morning. Mr. Carman was taken to HIllsboro Sunday evening and accompanied by relatives to Indianapolis, with hopes that he might be benefitted. He had been in declining health several months, suffering from liver trouble, and it was thought that he might be relieved by a surgical operation. His condition was such that the operation was not performed and death came to relieve him of his suffering. The body was brought to Hillsboro Wednesday afternoon and taken to the late home in Mellott. Mr. Carman was about 40 years of age and is survived by a widow and one daughter, Miss Zena, and five sisters, Mrs. Charles Reisler and Mrs. Stella Shephard of Indianapolis, Mrs. Robert Norton of Rockville, Mrs. Ida Gibson of Mellott; Mrs. Will Perry of Charleston, Ill and one brother, Will Carman of Mellott. --
