Source: Crawfordsville Review Wednesday April 5, 1916
Attica, April 3- The entire community was deeply shocked shortly after noon today by the death of Mrs. John F. CARLSON who after a short walk was seized with a hemorrhage and died before relief could be extended her. She had been suffering from laryngitis for some time and had been confined to her home. The brightness of the day caused her to think a little walk would help her and she had gone only a short distance before returning to her home. Mrs. Carlson, formerly Myrtle Mather was the daughter of Henry D. Mather and had lived in Attica 20 years. She had made many friends since coming here and was a splendid type of Christian woman. She is survived by husband the well known musician her father and mother two sisters, and two brothers.
