CARLSON, Julius

Wellington, Ill.—Julius B. Carlson, 94, Wellington, died at 1:29 p.m. Friday, March 3, 1989 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville, Ill.
  He was born Nov. 25, 1894 in Sweden, the son of Johan August and Albertina Louisa Andreason Carlson. He was married Feb. 11, 1920 near Goodwin, Ill., to Tillie Johnson, who preceded him in death March 24, 1973.
  He came to the United States in 1912. He served in The U. S. Army during World War I and became a U. S. Citizen in 1923. He was a retired farmer, having farmed for 50 years near Wellington.
  He was a former member of the Ira Owen Kreager American Legion Post 384 of Hoopeston, Ill. He enjoyed gardening and reading.
  Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ted (Louise) Hodge, Wellington; Mrs. John (Lillian) Anderson, Milford, Ill.; Mrs. Glenn (Esther) Carlson, Milford, and Mrs. Fred (Mary Lou) Hardwick, Williamsport; two sons, Lloyd, Milford, and John, Wellington; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Selma Irene Carlson; one granddaughter; three brothers; three sisters and his great grandmother.   Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home, Hoopeston, with Jim Redmon officiating. Burial was in Floral Hill Cemetery with military graveside services. -s
