Covington, Ind. - Miss Nora Campbell, 82, a life resident of the Osborn Prairie community east of Covington, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 24, 1963) at Lakeview Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient there since Sept. 12. Born Nov. 17, 1880, in Livingston County, Ill., she was the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Longnecker Campbell. She had been associated with her sister, Miss Georgia E. Campbell, at the Wabash Valley Flower Shop in Covington for the past 11 years. Miss Campbell was a member of the Osborn Prairie Church and the Friendship Garden Club. She had attended the Covington Normal College. Survivors include three sisters, Miss Georgia E. Campbell and Mrs. Bytha Hershberger, both of Covington, and Mrs. Sarah Moore of Hillsboro Route 1; and a brother, Andrew of Veedersburg Route 2. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Osborn Prairie Church. The Rev. Edward D. Byrd will officiate. Burial will be in the Osborn Prairie Cemetery. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home and will be taken to the family residence east of Covington. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services.


Miss Nora Campbell, age 82, life-resident of the Osborn Prairie community, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient since Sept. 12. She had undergone surgery on Thursday, Sept. 19, and was getting along satisfactorily when she later suffered a stroke. Death was attributed to complications. Miss Campbell was born Nov. 17, 1880 in Livingston County, Ill., the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Longnecker Campbell. Most of her life was spent in the Osborn Prairie community. She had attended the old Covington Normal College. She had helped her sister, Georgia operate the Wabash Valley Flower Shop in Covington for the past 11 years. Miss Campbell was never married. She was a member of the Osborn Prairie Church and the Friendship Garden Club of Fountain County. She is survived by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Bytha Hershberger of Covington, Andrew Campbell of Veedersburg Rt. 2, Mrs. Sarah Moore of Hillsboro and Miss Georgia E. Campbell of Covington, and several nieces and nephews. The body will be returned to the Campbell residence, east of Covington, where friends may call after 7 o'clock tonight, Sept. 25. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Osborn Prairie Church. The Rev. Edward D. Byrd, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Osborn Prairie Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services. The Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
