Veedersburg - Charles Merritt Campbell, 61, of Lapel, a former Veedersburg resident, died Thursday in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. He was born and went to school in Veedersburg, and moved to Lapel, near Anderson, in 1957. In 1965 he retired from the Delco-Remy Corp. He was a member of FOE 209 of Anderson, and the Christian Church of Veedersburg. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cheryl Schuyler of Lapel, and Mrs. Cathy Woodward of Lapel; a son, Don of Lapel; two brothers, Cedric of Anderson and Max Read of Long Beach, Calif., and four grandchildren. Services will be conducted at Fisher Brothers Funeral Home in Lapel Sunday at 2 p.m. Graveside rites and burial will be at Osborne Prairie Cemetery in Veedersburg Monday at 11:30 a.m.
Veedersburg, Ind. - Charles Merrott Campbell, 61, of Lapel, a former Veedersburg resident, died Thursday morning (June 12, 1969) at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he had been a patient three weeks. Mr. Campbell was born Jan. 1, 1908 in Veedersburg and attended school there before moving to Lapel in 1957. He was a member of the Christian Church of Veedersburg and the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 209 at Anderson. He retired from Delco-Remy Corporation in Anderson in 1965. He is a veteran of World War II. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cheryl Schuyer and Mrs. Cathy Woodward, both of Lapel; a son, Don of Lapel; two brothers, Cedric of Anderson and Max Read of Long Beach, Calif. and four grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. EDT Sunday at the Fisher Brothers Funeral Home in Lapel. Graveside services and burial will be at 11:30 a.m. EDT Monday at the Osborne Prairie Cemetery in Veedersburg.
