Mellott, Ind. - Services were held Monday at Fort Wayne for Alexander Campbell, 60, former Democratic national committeeman from Indiana and trustee of Indiana University. He died unexpectedly at El Paso, Texas, where he was stricken while returning from the Rose Bowl festivities in California. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell rode their palomino horses in the Rose Bowl parade and attended the Indiana-Southern California game. He also was a former assistant attorney general of the United States and helped prosecute Alger Hiss. He had spoken at the Mellott United Church of Christ in the gym at Newtown. Survivors include the widow, Ruby, and a son, Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. William Helgers of Mellott attended services.
