Kingman, Ind. - Russell Franklin Callahan, 59, of Kingman Route 2, died unexpectedly at 9 p.m. yesterday while coon hunting near the old Lodi Park north of Silverwood. Death was attributed to natural causes. Born June 26, 1907, in Ridgefarm, Ill., he was the son of William Poyt and Laura Setser Callahan. He was married Feb. 6, 1932, to Iva Lorene Craft, who survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Lyons and Mrs. Alberta Mae Huston, both of Covington Route 1, Mrs. Deloris Reese and Mrs. Linda Thompson, both of Crawfordsville, and Betty Jane at home; a son, William F. of Perrysville Route 1; a brother, Roy of Covington Route 2; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral rites for Russell Franklin Callahan, 59, who died Tuesday night, were held at 2 p.m. today at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. John Myers officiating and burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Callahan, blind the last several years, was fatally stricken about 9 p.m. while coon hunting with a son and a neighbor youth in the old Lodi park area north of Silverwood. A native of Ridgefarm, Ill., he was a son of William Pyott and Laura Setser Callahan and was born June 26, 1907. He was wed Feb. 6, 1932 to Iva Lorene Craft. Surviving besides his wife, of Rt. 2 Kingman, are six children, Dorothy Mae Lyons and Alberta Mae Huston of Rt. 1 Covington, Deloris Reese and Linda Lou Thompson of Crawfordsville, William Franklin Callahan of Rt. 1 Perrysville and Miss Betty Jane Callahan, at home; 11 grandchildren and a brother, Roy of Rt. 2 Covington. The parents and a brother preceded him in death.
