Thelma Cadman, 34, resident of Attica, died suddenly after a heart attack about 5 p.m. Monday, Jan 20 1941, at the home of her aunt, Bessie Cates at Cates Born June 12, 1907 at Covington, Ind she was the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Schuyler Cates April 14, 1929, she married Charles Cadman. Surviving are her husband; her father; a sister, Edith Cates, Alvin, Ill; a brother, Luis Cates of Cates, four half sisters and three half brothers.

Thelma Cates (CADMAN), daughter of Schuyler and Marie Shumaker Cates was born June 12, 1907 and died at the home of her aunt in Cates, Ind, Jan 20, 1941 at the age of 33 years, 7 months 8 days. She was the eldest in a family of 3 children. After the death of their mother, most of her early life was spent with her aunt, Dessa Cates. She was a member of the United Brethren Church at Cates. On April 14, 1929 she was united in marriage to Charles Cadman of Perrysville, Ind. To this union one child was born and died in infancy. She came to the home of her aunt two weeks ago to visit and Monday evening about 4:30 Mr Bailey saw her lying in the yard where she had gone but a few minutes before. She was unconscious when they reached her and she passed away quickly. Thelma was a devoted wife and was loved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her death, the heart-broken husband; her father; one brother, Lewis Cates of Cates; one sister, Mrs. Edith Cates of Alvin, Ill; three half brothers, Harold of Rantoul, Ill; Charles of Covington; and LeRoy of Sarasota, Fla; four half sisters, Mrs Louise kIng of Brai, Ind; Mary Elinor, Delores and Martha Elizabeth Cates all of home in Covington. Also many other relatives and friends.
