R. Harold Byers, 59, of West Point vas dead on arrival at the Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had apparently suffered a heart attack. Born and reared in West Point, he was a farmer and also operated Byers Real Estate Company. In 1936 he was married to Mildred L. Osborn in Chicago and she survives. Mr. Byers was a member of Shawnee Lodge 129 F&AM at Odell, Elks Lodge 143, Scottish Rite of Indianapolis and the Indiana Relators Association. Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Randolph (Brenda) Engler of Lafayette; and one son, Robert H. Byers of West Lafayette. --waw
