ROCKVILLE, Ind. — Harvey J. Byers, 65, of Rockville Route 1, died at 1 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 18, 1974) at St. Anthony Hospital in Terre Haute. He was a retired steamfitter and a member of the Assembly of God Church and Steamfitters Local 157 at Terre Haute. He was born Dec. 26, 1908, in Parke County, the son of John and Lula Nebbins Byers. He was married Dec. 24, 1928, to Mary Ellen Williams, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donna Marie Birkhotz of Fon Du Lac, Wis.; a son Robert H. of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, John Byers of Rockville and Edward of Terre Haute; two sisters, Miss Goldie Byers of Brazil and Mrs. Viola Neal of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home. The Rev. Albert Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Shephersville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday. --waw
