BYERS, Dorothy Powell - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Dorothy A. Byers of rural West Lebanon, age 67, died Thursday evening, January 27, in Lakeview Medical Center at Danville, Illinois. She was born in Warren County, September 11, 1915, the daughter of Marion and Grace Bolton Powell. November 8, 1933, she married Paul L. Byers, who survives. A licensed practical nurse, she worked at Lakeview Medical Center several years and had worked for Dr. Carl Nelson of West Lebanon. She was a charter member and organist of the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene and was a member of Pike-Steuben-Kent Senior Citizens.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Shirley Lusk of Rossville, Illinois; two sisters, Susie Powell and Gladys Grouch, both of Covington; three brothers, Paul F. Powell of Catlin, Illinois, Robert Powell and Thomas Ward of Williamsport; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Ralph Price and Rev. Mike Reed officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery. Fisher Funeral Home of West Lebanon was in charge of the arrangements. – thanks to S
