BUXTON, George W. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

George W. Buxton, aged seventy years, died yesterday at his home near Wingate. The funeral occurs tomorrow at 11 o’clock from the Shawnee Church, Rev. John L. Miller officiating. George W. Buxton was born near Portland, in Butler County, Ohio, August 14th, 1823, and moved with his parents to Mercer County, Ohio, in 1829. Here he was married to Mary Bellinger in 1844, living with her thirty six years, when she died. He was married to Belinda Harris in 1884, and came to this county and state in 1886. he united with the primitive Baptist Church January 11th, 1840, but changed his membership to the Shawnee Church in Fountain County when he came to this state. He was ordained to preach November 1, 1890. He leaves a wife and three children, two daughters and a son.
