Graveside service was held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro for Ralph Butts, 65 of Danville, Ill shortly before noon Wednesday. Funeral service was held at 10:30 at Edmund & Dickson Funeral Home in Danville with Rev. CM Read officiating. Mr. Butts, a resident of this vicinity for several years died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday June 19 in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville where he had been a patient for one day. Death was attributed to a heart ailment from which he had been suffering for the past year. He resided at 704 Jewell Street Danville and was a well known singer.  He had been a resident of that city for the past 42 years and was a machinist for Robert Holmes & Bros for 37 years having retired a year ago. He was born near Hillsboro Oct 2, 1889 the son of Napoleon B and Elvira Bailey Butts.  He was married to Blanche Anderson whom he married Aug 28, 1909. He was a member of the Second Church of Christ. Survivors include the widow, six sisters: Mrs. Ann Myer and Mrs. Clifford Bunnell of Waynetown; Mrs. Perry Cooper of Lebanon; Mrs. Ruth Hanley and Miss Edith Butts of Chicago and Mrs. Leo Sullivan of Coral Gables, Fla and one brother, John Butts of Danville, Ill. – kbz

Danville, Ill. -- Ralph Butts, 65, died at 6:20 p. m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. He had been ill a year and was a hospital patient but one day. His death was attributed to a heart ailment. He was born in Hillsboro Oct. 2, 1889, the son of Napoleon and Elvira Bailey Butts. On Aug. 28, 1909, he married Blanche Anderson. He had resided in Danville 42 years and was a machinist for Robert Holmes & Bros. for 37 years. Mr. Butts was a well known singer and was a member of the Second Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife; six sisters, Mrs. C. R. Bunnell and Mrs. Anna Myer, both of Waynetown, Mrs. Perry Cooper of Lebanon, Mrs. Leo Sullivan of Coral Gables, Fla., Mrs. Ruth Hanley and Miss Edith Butts, both of Chicago and a brother, John Butts of Danville, Ill. Services will be at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday in, the Edmund and Dickson Funeral Home followed by burial in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Graveside rites will be held and the casket will be opened at the grave.  --typed by Walt W
