Robert F. Butterworth, 76, of
Hoopeston, Ill., died at 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 1994 at his winter residence in
Bonita Springs, Fla. Born Nov. 22, 1917, in Hoopeston, he was the son of Ray
and Gertie (Nugent) Butterworth. He married Helen L. Giles, Aug. 24, 1940, at
Watseka, Ill. She survives. Also surviving, are: a daughter, Judy P. (Russell)
Moore of Covington; two sons, Robert R. (Kathy) Butterworth of Rossville, Ill.
and Mark A. Butterworth of Hoopeston; five grandchildren; one brother, Merle
(Lois) Butterworth of Kansas City, Mo.; an aunt Hazel (James) Wilson of Hoopeston;
several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and one
sister. Mr. Butterworth was a life resident of Hoopeston. He retired in 1980
from FMC Corp. in Hoopeston. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at
Hamilton-Orr Funeral Home in Hoopeston with Rev. Wheeler T. Harden officiating.
Interment at Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston. Visitation from 6-9 p.m. (Ill.
time) Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Eastern Illinois
Multi-Purpose Community Center, 206 S. First Ave., Hoopeston, Ill. 60942. – jlr
