Two people were killed and three remain in “serious” condition following a head-on crash on a rural Warren County road near Marshfield Friday night.
Dead are Mrs. Audery Lee Abbott, 42, Rt. 2, Williamsport, and Mark Bush, 20, Rt. 1, West Lebanon. Suffering extensive injuries and listed as “serious” in the intensive care unit of Burnham City Hospital at Champaign, Ill., are Michael Gooden, 20, West Lebanon, and Bruce E. Abbot, is in “serious” condition at the intensive care unit of Lake View Memorial Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he reportedly underwent surgery on a ruptured bladder.    State police said Stevie Abbott was driving east on the Marshfield-West Lebanon blacktop in southwest Warren County at 9:25 p.m. Friday, and Powell was driving west on that road. For some reason the Powell car, with passengers Gooden and Bush crossed the centerline and struck the Abbot vehicle head-on.
