KINGMAN - Thomas Burns, 73- year-old retired farmer, died at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday at his home four and one-half miles northwest of Kingman. He had been ill a few weeks with a heart ailment. Son of John and Evaline Brown Burns, the deceased was born Feb. 5, 1883, at Grapecreek, Ill. He married Alta Ramey in 1948. Mr. Burns was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving, in addition to the widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Carl Allen and Mrs. Ralph McCurdy of Arcadia, Calif.; a step son, Pierce Holloway of near Kingman; three sisters, Mrs. Mirtie Gritten of near Kingman, Mrs. Belle Orr of Oakwood, Ill., and Miss Nora Burns of Danville, Ill., and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted. at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cates EUB Church in charge of Rev. Gerald Muncie. Burial will be in M. Hope Cemetery at Covington.
