Attica, June 22 – John Calhoun Burdin, 79, resident of this city for many years died last evening at 6:30 o’clock at his home, 200 North Second Street after a long illness. He spent the past year with his son, Harry Burdin and wife in Toledo, Ohio, returning here last Monday accompanied by Mrs. Harry Bundin (sic) who was to care for him. Born in Paris, Ky Nov 7, 1859 he came to Attica at the age of 9 years and for over 50 years was a printer, working in different print shops here and for a time employed by a Danville, Ill newspaper. His son is the only survivor. Friends may call at the DeSutter Funeral Home where a short service will be held Thursday at 3 o’clock; Elder AW Jackman officiating. Burial in Riverside cemetery.
