COVINGTON — Harold J. Bugle, 85, Covington, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 in V.A. Illiana Health Care System, Danville, Ill. He was born Feb. 4, 1921 in Charleston, Ill., the son of Frederick and Nancy (Bensly) Bugle. He married Mary Conley July 2, 1954 in Sullivan, Ill. She survives. He formerly worked at Blaw-Know in Mattoon, Ill. He later worked at Hyster's in Danville, Ill., retiring in 1979. He was a graduate of Charleston High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, working on small projects, visiting with family and friends, especially with his children and grandchildren. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a daughter, Susie (Mark) Abernathy, Covington; two sons, Jack Bugle, State Line and David (Tammy) Bugle, Covington; eight grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Katherine Bugle, Charleston, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and a sister. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday in 1st Baptist Church of Covington with the Rev. Troy Harkey officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga, was in charge of arrangements.
