Wallace , April 8 1945 – James R. Bryant, 86, died Sunday morning at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient for the past week. He had been ill for six months. Mr. Bryant had been a resident of this vicinity for 61 years although he was born in Illinois Feb 16, 1859 the son of Nathan and Susanna Maxey Bryant. He was married to Martha Robens now deceased at Matoon Ill July 3, 1879. Surviving include four sons, Alfred of Yeddo; Nathan near Kingman; Charles, Williamsport and Martin, near Wallace; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Keller, Waynetown and Mrs. Anna Roth, Elkhart; one sister, Mrs. Dora Greene, Charleslton Ill; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Elmer Wooley and a son, Melvin Bryant are deceased.
