Newtown—Mrs. Verna E. Bruner, 67, Newtown, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 1989 in Community Hospital, Williamsport. She had been in failing health two years.

  She was born Aug. 11, 1921, near Williamsport, in Warren County, the daughter of Cecil N. and Mamie Edith Davis Bell. She was married June 11, 1942 in Wingate to Max H. Bruner, who survives.

  She attended school in Williamsport and moved to Newtown more than 40 years ago. She formerly lived in the Wallace area and in Warren County.

  She was a homemaker and a member of Williamsport Christian Church.

  Surviving besides her husband are a son, Max V., Newtown; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas A. (Linda M.) Ungersma, rural Attica; a brother, Charles B. Bell, Eatontown, N. J.; three sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Wilson, Vincennes; Mrs. Wilma Barney, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Emma A. Bowen, Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren and five step grandchildren.

  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Tuesday) in Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica, with the Rev. George Bratcher officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Wallace. – thanks to s

Bruner, who survives.  Surviving with the husband are a son, Max V. Bruner of Newtown; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas A (Linda M) Ungersma of rural Attica; a brother, Charles V. Bell of Eatontown NJ and three sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Wilson of Vincennes; Mrs. Wilma Barney of Portland Ore and Mrs. Emma A. Bowen of Tampa Fla.
