Mary E. Brown of RR 1, Tangier, age 82, died Wednesday, June 30, at her home. She was born at Silverwood, May 16, 1900, the daughter of Jack and Eleanor Wykoff Sollars. Mary 28, 1921, she married Parke T. Brown, who died April 12, 1981. Mrs. Brown was a member of Tangier Friends Church.

  Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Kistler of Winamac and Mary Woods of RR 1, Kingman; a sister, Eva Edwards of Danville, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Tangier Friends Church with burial in Tangier Cemetery. Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman was in charge of arrangements. – thanks to S

The body will lie in state one hour in Tangier Friends Church prior to service there at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Ruth Isaac officiating, interment Tangier Cemetery.  Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  Five brothers and one sister preceded her in death. - kbz

Tangier - Mrs. Mary E. Brown, 82 of Rt 1, Tangier died Wednesday afternoon in her home.  She was born at Silverwood. In 1921 she married Parke T. Brown who was retired from Purdue University in the School of Agricultural.  Mr. Brown died in 1982.  Mrs. Brown was a member of Tangier Friends Church.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Kistler of Winamac and Mrs. Dick (Mary) Woods of rural Bloomingdale; two sons, Bruce Brown of Rt 1, Tangier and Parke Brown of Rt 1, Kingman and one sister, Mrs. Eva Edwards of Danville, Ill - kbz
