Linden, August 15 -- Lon P. Brown, 60, who had been in the ? business here the past 15 years, hanged himself in the garage at his home here this morning. The body was found shortly before 8 o'clock. It was reported he had been ill for an extended period and that was the reason he took his own life. Mr. Brown was born in Fountain County, Sept 20, 1872 a son of Tom and Mariah Brown. He spent his boyhood near Waynetown. Previous to living in Linden he had operated a hardware store at New Richmond for 16 years. On Sept 4, 1912, he married Lulu Greenburg who survives. He was a member of the Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Surviving besides the widow are two brothers, Will Brown of Waynetown and Charles Brown of Canada; a sister, Mrs. W.D. Bruner of Lafayette, an aunt, Mrs. Florence Munsell of Crawfordsville and several nieces and nephews.
