BROWN, Lawrence C. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

HILLSBORO -- Mrs. Evelyn Hines of Hillsboro received word last week of the death of her brother, Lawrence C. Brown, age 59, who died Tuesday, May 26, in a hospital at Homestead, Fla. He had been in failing health 12 years. Mr. Brown was born March 20, 1905 in Veedersburg, the son of Charles and Nellie Cartwright Brown. He was married to Helen Truman of Veedersburg in 1925. They were married in Covington. He was employed in civil service at Midlothian, Ill., before he and his family moved to Homestead 10 years ago. He also served with the U. S. Navy and Coast Guard. Survivors, in addition to the sister here, are: the widow; five children; three brothers, Dallas of Long Beach, Calif., Arthur of Mishawaka and Floyd of Chicago; and an uncle, Martin Switzer of Veedersburg. Funeral services were conducted at Homestead with burial in a Homestead cemetery. typed by Walt W
