The body of John Roy Brown, 74-year-old World War I veteran, was found in the bedroom of his home at the north edge of Veedersburg at 11:45 a.m. Thursday. Coroner Robert Shelby of Fountain County attributed death to natural causes and said it probably occurred last weekend. When friends did not see him for several days, Police Chief Paul Linker accompanied one to the home, where Mr. Brown lived alone, and discovered the body on the floor in his bedroom. Born in this community March 21, 1890, he was a son of Cyrus and Arisa Hopkins Brown. He was a laborer and an Army veteran of the first World War. Survivors include two brothers, Hurley L. of Galveston, Ind., and Ray of Rt. 2 Fithian, Ill. The body was taken to the Fishero Funeral Home, where funeral arrangements are pending arrival of the brothers.
