BROKAW, Roberta Slazas - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

HILLSBORO – Mrs. Roberta Slazas Brokaw, 51, a Hillsboro native, died Thursday morning in a Terre Haute hospital. Mrs. Brokaw had resided in Fort Branch, Ind. She was a 1939 graduate of Hillsboro High School and attended Indiana State University. She was born March 17, 1922 a daughter of Joseph and Fanny Slazas. She married John Brokaw in 1944. He survives. Surviving beside the husband are a daughter, Lynne Anne Brokaw and a son, Fred, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Clair Crumley of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Wilford Nusbaum of Lancaster, Ohio, and two brothers, George Slazas of Veedersburg and John Slazas of Kingman. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ft. Branch. Graveside rites will be conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery here with the Rev. David Coon officiating. – jlr
