Jess Brockway, 85, of Kingman Route 2, died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 1978, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. He had been a patient for several hours.
Born Jan. 8, 1893, in Clearwater, Miss., he was the son of John and Nanny Wilkins Brockway. He was married to Anna Lachney, who preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Covington and the I and I Fox Hunters Association.
Survivors include a foster son, Lawrence Brockway of Kingman Route 2; a daughter, Mrs. Velma Holzapfel of Union City, Ohio; four grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Services were Friday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Terre Haute with Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. EST Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Terre Haute. The Rev. Donald Vernon officiated.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery at Terre Haute. -s
