Veedersburg – John Briner, 77, a native of Veedersburg died Monday noon in the home of his son, Warren at Winter Haven, Fla where he was visiting. He had been in failing health. Born in Fountain County, he married Josie Scott who preceded him in death. Surviving are four sons: Berle, Warren and Charles of Winter Haven, Fla and Carl of Muncie; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes McKee of Veedersburg and Mrs. Nellie Fowler of Cleveland, Oh; a brother, Harvey of Ontario, Ore. The body is being returned to Veedersburg for services and burial. - kbz

John Briner, former Veedersburg resident died at noon Monday May 31 in Winter Haven, Fla at the home of his son, Warren Briner.  Mr. Briner was born Feb 12, 1867 in Veedersburg son of William and Martha Robison Briner. He married Josie Scott and she preceded him in death.  Surviving are four sons, Berle, Charles and Warren all of Winter Haven and Carl of Muncie, Ind; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Fowler of Cleveland, Ohio and Mrs. Agnes McKee of Veedersburg and one brother, Harvey of Ontario, Ore. The body arrived in Veedersburg on Thursday and taken to the Fishero Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. – kbz
