BRIER, Merle - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Merle O. Brier of Attica, age 78, died Sunday afternoon, March 13, in Woodland Manor Nursing Center at Attica. He was born in Warren County, July 25, 1904, the son of Ozzie Z. and Blanche Foreman Brier. October 23, 1929, he married Tula M. Albright, who survives. Brier was a member of Attica Christian Church and served on the Shawnee Township Advisory Board. He had lived and farmed on RR 1, Attica, for 53 years, moving into town a year ago. He was employed as a rural mail carrier from 1927 to 1937.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Barbara Swanson of RR 1, Attica; two sons, Merle Jr. of RR 3, Covington, and Carl of RR 1, Attica; three sisters, Mildred Schultz of Lafayette, Josephine Lawson of RR 3, Veedersburg, and Katherine DeBord of Williamsport; a brother, Fred of Attica; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. James Bourdouris officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. – thanks to S
