Lizton, Nov 22 - William E. Brant, 53 years old, trustee of Cain Township in Foountain County was instantly killed and Mr., and Mrs William Shade, also of Cain were believed to have been fatally injured in an automobile accident here this afternoon. The accident occurred shortly after 2 o'clock Mrs. Shade is the attendance officer for Fountain County. The victims of the crash are reisents of Hillsboro. Mr. Brant was well known in his home community and for several years had been active in the Democratic party.

Hillsboro, Nov 24 - One of the largest gatherings ever to attend a funeral in Hillsboro crowded into the Hillsboro Christian Church here at 2 o'clock this afternoon to pay final tribute to William E. Brant, trustee of Cain Township who was killed in an automobile accident just west of Lizton Wednesday afternoon, The services were in charge of Rev HA Davis of Clermont, formerly the pastor of the Christian Church here, assisted by the Rev. George W. Ross of Indianapolis, present minister at the local church. The township schools were closed today and every business house in Hillsboro shut its doors during the services this afternoon.
The Hillsboro Masonic Lodge of which Mr. Brant was a member had charge of the last rites at the grave, directed by CT Fisher, worshipful master of the lodge. The honorary pall bearers chosen from among the local Masons were Carl Leighty, Byron Hesler, HJ Davidson, Hamilton Myers, Fred Sloan and LL Wood.
Active pall bearers were: EP Finch; AB McKey; Joseph Glasock; Albert Livengood; Frank Deth; Ernest Myer; Harry Allen and Marion Cooper. Flower bearers were Albert Bowman, Walter Foxworthy, Miss Cathernie Engel and Mesdames Floy Bowman; Nellie Eitnier; Nora Epperson; Mamie Glascock; Nora Reynolds; Nellie Tozer; Julia Kay; Bessie Long; Mamie Hesler; Della Hesler; Effie Sloan; Alta Leighty; Magdalena Nine; Ethel Davidson; Delia Hershbarger; Von Rusk; Josephine Tinsley; Reed Janeway; Mabel PItman and Bertha Wilson. Several selections were sung by Rev. Ross and Miss Nina Snyder, accompanied at the piano by Mrs Isa Livengood. - kz
