Covington, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Georgia Brant, 74, a resident of 101 W. Williams for two years, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday (March 30, 1971) at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She had been a patient eight days and had been ill two years. Born June 12, 1896, in Cayuga, she was the daughter of Samuel and Lacey VanDevender Holdaway. She was married to Alfred Sawyer. She later married Sherman Brant in 1930. He died in 1944. She had been a housewife. Mrs. Brant was a member of the United Methodist Church Win One Class, Home Economics Club, Royal Neighbors Lodge 6020, VFW Post 2395 Auxiliary, Covington Post Auxiliary 453, Danville Post and Seventh Street Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Samuel Sawyer of Villa Grove, Ill., and W. G. Sawyer of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Glaspey of Danville; a brother, Ralph Holdaway of Danville; a sister. Mrs. Dorothy Efrid of Chicago; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a sister, a brother and a grandson. Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Friday at the Hegg Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 1 p.m. Thursday.
