BRANT, Amanda Glascock - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Amanda E Brant, 87, of Hillsboro died at Culver Hospital at 8 o'clock Thursday morning. She was brought to the hospital five weeks ago after she had fractured her hip and death was due to complications. Mrs. Brant was born on a farm SW of Hillsboro July 24, 1852, the daughter of Daniel and Elvada (sic Elizabeth) Campbell Glascock. In August 1870 (18th) she was married to William Brant who died May 4, 1901. Her entire life was spent in and near Hillsboro. She was the last charter member of the Hillsboro Christian Church which was organized in 1864. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Brant, this city; a brother, John Glascock, Hillsboro; two grandsons, William Brant, ? and J.C. Brant, Indianapolis; three granddaughters, Mrs. Amanda Booher, Indianapolis; Mrs. Mildred Bassett this city and Mrs. Nellie Ruth Warren, Veedersburg; and five great grandchildren; two children died in infancy and one son, WIlliam E. Brant died in an accident in 1933. Funeral services will be at the Hillsboro Christian Church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
