VEEDERSBURG — Funeral services for Jerry Abram Branson, age 83, of 322 North Front St., Rensselaer, father of Mrs. Harold (Helen Ruth) McElwee of Veedersburg Rt. 2, who died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at his home following a sudden heart attack, were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Jackson Funeral Chapel in Rensselaer. The Rev. James Bennett officiated. Mr. Branson was born Sept. 3, 1887, in Jordan Township, Jasper County, Ind., the son of Joseph and Jennie Hanson Branson. He was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. He was married Aug. 27, 1914 in Delphi to Esther V. Peterson, who survives. He was a retired farmer. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: one daughter, Mrs. McElwee of Veedersburg Rt. 2; two sons, Paul Branson of Winchester and Merle Branson of Rensselaer; five grandchildren; one brother, W. L. Branson of Hammond; and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Hall of Brook, Mrs. George (Nora) Hudson of Rensselaer and Mrs. Molly Hotler of Morocco.
