BOYD, Alma Strong - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Alma Strong Boyd, 80, for many years a resident of Mellott, died suddenly of a heart ailment Wednesday, July 29, 1970, in her room at the State Soldiers Home near Lafayette. She had been in failing health several months. A daughter of George and Myrtle Goode Strong, she was born Aug. 12, 1889, near Mellott. She attended the Mellott school. She was first married to Allie Foxworthy. After his death she was married in May, 1932 to Harvey Boyd at Rockville. He also preceded her in death. She spent most of her married life in Mellott. Mrs. Boyd was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ. Surviving is a foster son, George Strong of Williamsport. Two brothers are deceased. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Friday at the Crumley Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Harry Randolph officiating. Friends may call there after 5 p.m. Friday.

She had been in failing health several months. A daughter of George and Myrtle Goode Strong, she was born Aug. 12, 1889 near Mellott. She attended school here and in May of 1932 married Harvey Boyd at Rockville. He preceded her in death. She spent most of her married life here until 1950 when she went to the Soldiers Home. Mrs. Boyd was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ. Surviving is a foster son, George Strong of Williamsport. Two brothers are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery there. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday.
