BOWMAN, Floy Phebus - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

COVINGTON - Floy May Bowman, age 70, died at 2:25 p.m. Monday at the Indiana State Soldiers Home near Lafayette, where she was admitted Monday morning. She was born May 7, 1893, Wabash Township, Fountain County, the daughter of Eden Calvin and Sarah Jane Smith Phebus. She married Albert D. Bowman March 2, 1915. He died May 29, 1939. Also preceding her in death were her parents and an infant son, Lloyd Calvin Bowman. Mrs. Bowman is survived by two nieces, Pauline S. Goddin of Kingman and Mrs. Helen S. Martin of Covington. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Lafayette. Since the death of her husband Mrs. Bowman had worked as a practical nurse in various institutions and homes until failing eyesight forced her to retire. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. Elder L.J. Pumford will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home.
