Mrs. Ethyl Bowman, 76 who resided on the farm where she was born one mile East of Grange Corner, died at 4;30 a.m. Monday April 6, 1959 at her home following an 18-month illness. She had been seriously ill one day. Born July 18, 1882, she was the daughter of Elizah and Mary C. Alward Summers. She was married Dec 12, 1905 to Tolbert Bowman at Rockville, who preceded her in death on February 20, 1939. Mrs. Bowman was a member of the Wallace Christian Church, Wolf Creek Ladies Aid for the past 40 years and attended the Friends Union Church for Sunday School. She had resided on the farm where she was born all her life, except for 12 years when she resided NE of Wallace. Survivors include a son, H. Earl Bowman of Waveland; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Machledt ( sic -- this should be Moffett) of Kingman RR and Mrs. Vera Kesner of Marshall RR; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a half brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wolf Creek Church, Rev. John Servies of Crawfordsville will officiate, with burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery. The body is at the family residence where friends will be received after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Servi es Funeral Home of Waynetown is in charge. - kbz

-- Mrs. Ethel BOWMAN, 76, died at 4:30 a. m. Monday April 6, 1959 at the home in which she was born and where she spent most of her life. It is located a mile east of Grange Corner. She had been in ill health 18 months but was seriously sick only one day with a coronary occlusion. Born July 8, 1882, she was the daughter of Elijah and Mary C. Alward Summers. She was married Dec. 12, 1905 to Tolbert Bowman at Rockville. Mrs. Bowman lived in the same home with the exception of 12 years she spent on a farm NE of Wallace.
She had been active in the Ladies Aid of the Wolf Creek church for 40 years. However, she attended Sunday School at the Friends Union Church at Grange Corner. The survivors include a son, H. Earl Bowman, Waveland; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel E. Moffett, Kingman and Mrs. Vera Kesner, Marshall; four grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb 20, 1939. A half-brother, Herschell Myers, also preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Wolf Creek Church with Rev. John R. Servies in charge. Burial in Wolf Creek. - kbz
