James H. Bowling of Veedersburg, age 45, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois, Thursday night, July 8. He was coaching Little League and was protesting a call when stricken. Bowling had undergone open-heart surgery several years ago.
He was born in Fountain County, March 30, 1937, the son of Arthur M. and Grace I. Harvey Bowling. January 6, 1968, he married Bonnie York, who survives. Bowling was an employee of C and D Battery in Attica.
Also surviving are four brothers, Arthur C. of Covington, Jesse L. and Donald E., both of Kingman, and William O. of Veedersburg; and two half brothers, Robert Bowling of Kingman and Robert Nolan of Veedersburg.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Richard Throckmorton officiating. Burial was in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. – thanks to S
