BOUTWELL, Lt. Col Allie - ARMY WWII+

Lt. Col. Allie V. Boutwell (Army United States retired), 66, of Indianapolis, died February 22, 1978, at Winona Hospital.
  Born in Fountain County, he was a 30-year army career man, retiring in 1971.

  He was a member of the Broad Ripple United Methodist Church, Indianapolis; the North Park Masonic Lodge, Indianapolis; the Scottish Rite Army Consistory #1; Murat Legion of Honor; Toastmaster International; National Sojourners Military Order of World Wars; American Legion Post #4 and VFW Post #2985.

  He was in the Third Army, 76th Infantry Division E.T.O. and in the occupation of Japan G.H.Q.

  He was a graduate of General Command and Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and the Fort Benning, Georgia, Infantry School.

  He wrote music and was the author of “Music Maestro Please.”

  Survivors include his wife, Virginia L. Boutwell, Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Diane D. Tenney, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Barbara A. Sanders, Carmel; two sons, Bruce Boutwell, assigned to the USS Enterprise, and Griff G. Boutwell; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Talbott, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Francis Potts, Lebanon; two brothers, Willis A. Boutwell, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Robert Boutwell, Hilliard, Fla., and here grandchildren. – thanks to S
