Mrs. Mary Delia Boord, 92, widow of a Civil War veteran died at 11:45 p.m. Monday at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Myrtie M. O’Neal at 1206 N Franklin St in Danville.  Mrs. Boord was born March 17, 1863 in Fountain County, daughter of James F. and Sarah Ellen McLean Marquess. She was married to Robert Reader Monger and later married to Elijah M. Boord on Dec 22, 1892.  Mr. Boord, a veteran of the Civil War, died Oct 7, 1933.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Freda Rush of Mt. Vernon, Ill; Mrs. O’Neal of Danville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jack Gillard of Chicago; five grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren and a half brother, Thomas M. Marquess of Williamsport. She was a member of the JOEL Pace Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution of Mt. Vernon and the First Christian Church of Covington.  Mrs. Boord resided several years in Kansas but spent most of her lifetime in Covington and Danville. She became ill 3 years ago and died following a heart attack.  Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Covington First Christian Church with the Rev. Gerald Durre officiating.  The Shelby Funeral Home in Covington was in charge of arrangements. – kbz
