Veedersburg, June 11 – Mrs. Marie Boord, 48, died at her home here at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon. She had suffered two paralytic strokes during the preceding 48 hours. Mrs. Boord was born at Paxton, Ill June 24, 1895 the daughter of William and Clara Paw Welter; but had lived here since early childhood. On June 28, 1927, she was married to Wendell Boord here. She is survived by her husband, who is Veedersburg circulation representative of The Journal and Review; and by one son, John William, at home here. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Sterling Christian Church with Rev. Charles Howard officiating. Burial was in the Osborne Prairie cemetery. - kbz

Mrs. Marie Boord, 48, died at her home in Veedersburg at 2:30 o’clock – Friday afternoon after an illness of only two days. Mrs. Boord’s sudden death was the result of two paralytic strokes suffered within 48 hours. She had been a resident of Veedersburg since childhood, moving here from Paxton, Ill where she was born on June 24, 1895. She was the daughter of William and Clara Paw Walker and on June 28, 1927 was married to Wendell Boord of Veedersburg. She was well known here and had many friends and was active in church work all of her life, being in the Sterling Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, Wendell and one son, John William. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Sterling Christian Church with Rev. Charles Howard officiating. Burial was in the Osborn Prairie cemetery with the Parham Funeral Home in charge. – kbz
