Richard A. Booe was born on Scotts Prairie, Indiana July 25, 1862. Died at his home in Kingman, Indiana March 3, 1928 at 4:30 p.m. On Sept 19, 1893 he was united in marriage with Miss Belle Nute of Mount Carmel, Ky. To this union two daughters Jean and Elizabeth were born who with his wife survive him.. When a small child his mother died and he was left with his father and near relatives. He struggled for an education and becoming qualified to teach, taught i n the common schools for a number of years. Not long after marriage he was called to Kingman to enter into business. He arrived in Kingman on Dec 1895 and since then has been a resident in the ? except a short time spent in the south. Early in life he became a member of the Scotts Prairie church and has ever held to the faith. He become a charter member of the church when organized in Kingman. He was a strong believer in the Fatherhood of God and in the divinity of Jese Christ. He believed in the brotherhood of man and held membership in the Masonic order and also in the Knights of Pythias. It has often been said that he was a good neighbor and was true to his friends. He was never misunderstood in what he believed and for what he stood. He will be missed by a great number of friends. Rev. Tharp of the Kingman Christian Church delivered the funeral oration at his late home, Monday afternoon at 2 after which interment was made in the Cemetery at Scott's Prairie.
