BOOE, Mary Newman - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Mary Booe, 73, resident of Veedersburg for 50 years died at 1 a.m., Monday at her home. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Nazarene Church of which she was a member with the Rev. Paul Rather, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery north of Veedersburg with Parham Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Booe was born Dec 9, 1872, in Parke County, daughter of John and Lucy Shank Newman.  She was married in 1890 to David Booe, who preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Wilkinson, Mrs. Maxine Mettee, and Mrs. Irene Smith and two sons, Harry and Max, all of near Veedersburg; a brother, James Newman, Peru, Ind; a sister, Mrs. Ida Etull, Veedersburg; 20 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.   --- transcribed by kbz
