BODINE, Ned D. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Ned D. Bodine of Covington, age 81, died Saturday morning, April 4, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born in Wabash Township, Fountain County, July 28, 1899, the son of Jess and Minta Bell Dice Bodine. He was first married to Helen Gookins, who died May 21, 1935. In 1940, he was married to Mary Uplinger, who survives. Bodine retired in 1969 from the RMC plant at Attica, where he had worked for 17 years. He later worked as a custodian at Covington Grade School.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Martha Lou Stoker of Dayton; three nieces of his second wife, which they raised, Mrs. Margaret Lambert of Covington, Mrs. Mary Sanders of Hillsboro and Lillian Uplinger of Veedersburg; and three grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington.- thanks to S
