COVINGTON - Funeral services for Ralph Coldren Blizzard, age 55, a resident of Covington Rt. 1 for the past 13 years, who died unexpectedly at him home at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Covington, where the body was taken one hour before services. The Rev. Harry Hybarger officiated and burial was in Coal Creek Cemetery at Snoddy's Mill. The Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home of Covington was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Blizzard was born March 28, 1915, in Marshall, Ill., the son of James Wesley and Ada Coldren Blizzard. He was married Dec. 17, 1938 to Etoral Rovene Allen, who survives. He was a member of the Yeddo Masonic Lodge No. 636, the Yeddo Chapter 313, Order of Eastern Star, and the Wallace and Montezuma Low 12 Clubs. Prior to moving to the Covington area, he was a resident of Marshall, Ill., and Indianapolis. He had been an independent hotel manager for 17 years prior to working for the Olin Mathieson Corp., for the last 14years. He served as a radio operator in the Air Force during World War II. He attended the First Baptist Church in Covington. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: one son, Samuel Wesley Blizzard, at home; his mother of Marshall, Ill.; three brothers, Foster and James, both of Marshall, Ill., and Kenneth of Indianapolis; one sister, Miss Dorothy Blizzard of Paris, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister. Masonic rites were conducted at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday.
