Joe Blankenship, Attica farmer, was instantly killed, in a tractor accident at his home about 7 miles east of Attica Wednesday, Sept. 25th. He was packing silage in a trench silo on the farm of Emmitt Gretencord, his employer. The tractor turned over on him, breaking his neck and crushing his chest.
He was the son of Andrew Jackson and Sudie Martin Blankenship, and was born Sept. 4, 1909, at Harden County, Kentucky. He married Ruth Helms on Sept. 4, 1953, and she survives. He was a member of the E.U.B, Church.
Other survivors are a son, Martie, age 3 years, a brother, John Blankenship, and three sisters, Mrs. Gale Bowles of Kramer, Mrs. Clara Larch of Williamsport and Mrs. Robert Jordan of Williamsport.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the DeSutter Funeral Home, and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. - jz
